We took our first family road trip the weekend of June 13th to far Northern city of Amarillo, Texas! Our arduous 2 hour journey started on Friday afternoon when we journeyed first to the thriving metropolis of Canyon, Texas, where Chris was able to deliver his humongous semester-long paper to his professor at WT. We did some brief sightseeing and then headed to Jason and Katy's house where good food and friends awaited us! We had such a nice relaxing time hanging out with J, K, Andrew and Matthew... my how the youngsters have grown!!! Saturday evening we met Ashley, Hannah and Cooper at the Amarillo Country Club for Jordan and Angela's wedding... BEAUTIFUL! Turned out to be a lovely evening and no rain! Sunday was nice and relaxing and we left J/K/A & M's house mid-afternoon. Oddly enough, on the way home we decided to stop and see if there were seats available to see the famous outdoor play "TEXAS". Chris had just started his Theatre course at WT and could use the play as extra credit, so we decided to go! The pictures above are from our dinner at the park. We ended up in rain parka's and in a torential downpour that timed itself perfect with the lightening and storm in the play that occurs just before intermission... Cason slept through it all!
